. . .
Clearly, the resources do not exist for everybody to take advantage of this emerging technology. Whether the objective is restoration or augmentation of normal functionality, there will be those left behind solely due to lack of means. On the augmentation side, to the extent these enhancements benefit mental capacity, issues arise as to whether a new and ominous form of class distinction is in the making. Exceptional intelligence is nothing new, but BCI used to augment mental capacity runs the risk of creating an unbridgeable thinking divide.
Welcome to the Transhuman race.

Very interesting. I am certainly feeling a little "class seperation" when trying to keep up with all the news regarding decisions the government is making for us. Apparently our new administration has access to all the latest technology and therefore are just "smarter" than the rest of us. On the very serious side the thought a new class distinction is a little scary. Hopefully Steve Jobs is working on something for the little guys.iBrain ?
